It finally cracked near the handle, so I bought this replacement. The first coffee pot lasted me over 2 years. I washed it in a dishwasher almost every day and constantly banged it against my metal sink and tile counter-tops (not on purpose). While a little pricey, it's better than buying a brand new cheap coffee pot and cheaper than replacing the whole unit.Like any replacement part, be sure to compare the part # with your original unit. It seems obvious, but just read some of the other reviews.
I'm sure it's a fine carafe, but be aware that it doesn't fit every Cuisinart 10-cup machines. It didn't fit my Grind & Brew DCC-690, and probably wouldn't fit any Cuisinart coffee maker with a design like the Cuisinart DGB500BK Grind and Brew, Black. It appears to fit a design like the Cuisinart DGB-300BK Automatic Grind and Brew 10-Cup Coffeemaker, Black nicely. If your 10-cup carafe appears to be a little taller than the picture and has a metal band around the bottom, it doesn't look like this product is a useable replacement.
The craffe isn't cheap but it's Cuisanart and a quality piece. It arrived days sooner than promised and just like the original that came with the coffee maker. I'm very pleased with the purchase.
I love this carafe. Im used to making the 14 cup. I accidently hit it against the sink and faucet and it didn't crack. The only thing that I don't like is that it is only a 10 cup coffee maker. I still really like it. Would recommend this brand
The coffee maker this carafe goes with was a gift from my parents and it works really well--just drop the whole beans in the top, add the water and you're good to go. I was really disappointed that I couldn't find a replacement locally and was afraid that shopping online would have me waiting forever (and buying coffee every day or just going without, EEK). Amazon made it easy to find and the shipping time wasn't bad at all, although it's 2009, UPS--people gotta go to work, can't be sittin' around the house waiting to sign for stuff.
